The Carson City Republican Party will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. at the Carson Nugget. We will discuss all 6 of the statewide questions on the ballot with different speakers giving input. Come early at 6:30 p.m. for our social time before the meeting at 7 p.m. Carson Nugget, Comedy Club Room, 1st Floor, 507 N Carson St.

Congressman Admodei will be our guest speaker at our upcoming dinner meeting to be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Carson Nugget.

Paul Dominique Laxalt, a former Nevada Governor, United States Senator, Lieutenant Governor and District Attorney, and one of former President Ronald Reagan’s closest friends in politics, died at a healthcare facility in Northern Virginia on Monday. He was 96.

The Carson City Republican Central Committee invites all Carson City registered republican voters to attend your county precinct meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 24 at the Plaza Event Center, 211 E. Ninth Street in Carson City from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Doors open at 8 a.m.

This meeting will finalize precinct organization, elect 270 delegates to the County Convention, and allow you to offer ideas for the party platform.

As Oprah ponders a run for the Presidency as a Democrat, she might pause and reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today honoring a great Republican. Dr. King chose to be a registered Republican because he knew, as does anyone who knows civil rights history, that the Democrats were the party of; slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow, and builders of Confederate war memorial monuments honoring slave owners.

Our guest speakers will be Niki Gladys, Executive Director of Institutional Development for Western Nevada College, Mark Ghan, the Interim President for Western Nevada College and Denise Frohlich, the Director of Library and Media Center for Western Nevada College who will be having a panel discussion regarding the college's plan for getting students ready for our changing workforce.

Democrats, statist liberals, other leftists and their media echo chamber were in full-throated “sky is falling” mode over the Labor Day weekend about the supposed imminent repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program by President Trump.

First, note this. When you govern with a “pen and a phone”, as former President Obama so famously did when he could not get what he wanted from Congress, a DACA repeal by order of the next president is a potential result. Governing by executive order works only when the next president is going to follow your lead.

We will be featuring Tyler Brennan, General Manager of RISE Dispensary of Carson City as our guest speaker. Tyler will be speaking to our party about his take on some of the recent controversies surrounding marijuana dispensaries locally as well as education on cannabis and what the implementation of NV Question 2 means going forward in both Carson City and Nevada as a whole.

Arizona’s United States Senator John McCain has been a difficult Republican for libertarian limited-government conservatives like us to embrace. Often, we stand opposite him on important issues of the day. He is too lacking in overarching principle for our taste. James has called on him to retire and actually sided with his Republican primary opponents in 2010 and 2016.
Yet, today we are sad.

However, a century later a counter movement arose and has continued to gain until now, undermining freedom and opportunity and diminishing hope, growth, wellbeing and flourishing.
