CARSON CITY — The Reno Corvette Club answered the call to fill a pickup with pet food at Michael Hohl Motor Company for the national nonprofit Pets of the Homeless.

The summer sun offers so many wonderful options: an early morning bike ride, a trip to Virginia City on the historic V and T railroad, or maybe a picnic and some live music in a park. All these and more are available today. Beat the heat with a trip to the movie theater – The Sandlot will take you back in time. The Chili Cook-off and Craft Fair continues at Glen Eagles. The Corvettes have taken over at Michael Hohl. Over 50 members of the Reno Corvette Club are competing for bragging rights and a trophy. Keep reading for even more summer fun.

What are you in the mood for? The Third and Curry Farmers Market is always a great place to start off your weekend. Kids won’t mind getting up early for the Young Eagle airplane flights at the Carson City Airport – they are free of charge for kids 8 – 17, you just need to be on time for registration. The Annual Chili Cook-off returns to Glen Eagles this weekend; with live music, a craft fair, and lots of yummy stuff to eat, raising money for Honor Flight has never tasted so good. Michael Hohl Motor Company invites Corvette owners and enthusiasts to their 7th Annual Reno Corvette Club Show & Shine on Sunday, July 9 from 9:00am to 12pm at 3700 S. Carson St., Carson City. More than 50 Corvettes will be on display competing for Best in Class and Best of Show trophies.

Summer nights were made for outdoor concerts. Bring a chair and enjoy All Hat, No Cattle at Dangberg Home Ranch Historical Park. The annual Reno Corvette Club Show and Shine will give you something to drool over. The 12th Annual Oodles of Noodles Festival will be held this Saturday and Sunday in Dayton. Hosted by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Oodles of Noodles is a two-day event in Old Town Dayton that combines great food provided by our contestants and food vendors, amazing entertainment, local talent, and tons of vendor and business booths.

The Oodles of Noodles Cook-off will be SATURDAY ONLY from 10am-2pm. Tasting Tickets are $5 for Adults and $3 for Children.
