Carson City flood update: Road closures remain as river levels continue to rise
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Mon, 01/09/2017 - 10:11amAs Carson City wakes to clean streets and soggy backyards, city employees have been hard at work throughout the night and will continue Monday to provide damage assessment, debris removal and clean up.
Temperatures have dropped steadily overnight and the river continues to rise.
Carson City Parks & Recreation Community Service Awards Ceremony

The public is invited to attend this free, outdoor event.

The Rockin' 50's Family Dance

Come dance the night away to awesome hits from the 1950’s Saturday, September 10th from 4pm to 6pm at the Carson City Community Center Gym. Tickets are $20 per couple and $5 for an additional person. Tickets are available at the MAC and the Aquatics Facility. Contact 887-2290 for more information. Proceeds go to help support Meals on Wheels and CCRD Youth Program.
Trash Mob to remove Bull Thistle this Saturday at Horse Creek Ranch

Through the efforts of volunteers, and their partners at the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department, Muscle Powered has removed thousands of pounds of garbage from local trails and walkways. With an eye towards improving the overall community and environment in the Carson City area, the Trash Mob is holding a very special and limited event this month.
Carson City's Ash to Kings Trail receives national achievement award

Bear activity seen in south Carson City near Fuji Park

Carson City staff spotted the bears in the Clear Creek area across from Vista Grande Boulevard west of Fuji Park. We would like to warn park visitors that bears might be attracted to the park because of food and trash.
Sheep help with annual fuels reduction, invasive weed work around Carson City

Carson City Parks and Recreation Kids Klub Lends a Hand

This past week, children from the Carson City Parks and Recreation joined the Ron Wood Family Resource Center in their yearly non-perishable food drive. Beginning on Monday, Dec. 7, participants in the Kids Klub after school programs begin bringing in their much needed donations in hopes of helping others have a happier holiday season.
