CARSON CITY, Nev. — Each passing month gets us closer to golf time! The Silver Oak Senior Men’s Golf Club has officially teed it up for the 2021 golf season. SOSMGC is open to golfers 55 years of age and older and all handicap levels.

To say 2020 was a crazy and eventful year would be an understatement. I think just about everyone can agree on that. But in the midst of a pandemic, a summer of protests, and an election year that shattered records, (pick a category, any catagory) it seems nevadans also found alot to disagree on. As a member, you are entitled to reduced green fees anytime you play Silver Oak in 2019. The season tees off on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. There will be coffee and donuts served opening day at 8 a.m. along with a short informational meeting.

Bring a picnic and enjoy an art show, great live music and tours of the mansion.

Many of our readers have probably not heard of Warrick Dunn, former running back for Florida State University and the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons.

Dunn had a great college career, winning a national championship with the Seminoles in 1993. He followed his college success with a very good twelve-year career in the NFL. He made the Pro Bowl three times, although his successes were overshadowed by the likes of Shaun Alexander, Adrian Peterson, and Corey Dillon.

The second annual Carson City Off-Road adventure begins Friday with multiple races, a bike and gear expo, and a music festival complete with beer garden, food, on and off-trail and pavement thrills.

Three days of thrill-seeking, mountain biking adventure and plenty of capital city hospitality and entertainment will kick off the inaugural Carson City Off-Road Epic Ride series beginning Friday and lasting through the weekend.

Organizers of Carson City's first Epic Rides Off-Road mountain bike event in June unveiled its event course Tuesday through a video and a series of maps. The event, June 17-19, will gives riders three distance options: beginner, weekend warrior and pro level.

The riding courses were picked in cooperation with Visit Carson City, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and Nevada State Parks.
