The Carson City School District is reminding parents, guardians and caregivers that this Thursday's #SAVETHEKIDS presentation, featuring keynote speaker Collin Kartchner and educational consultant Katey McPherson, is for adults only; no children or students.

That event takes place at 7 p.m. inside the Carson Middle School Cafeteria.

Nurses and nursing students are invited to join Nevada Nurses for a day at the Legislature. 120 nurse leaders and nursing students are expected to attend this event.

Nurses will meet with their legislators, learn about the legislative process and attend health related presentations.

Seating is limited and prior registration is required.

Today will bring partly sunny skies with a high around 53. There's a slight chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 50s. Another winter storm is lurking out toward the end of the week so stay tuned.

Could we be in the dog days of January? Sunday is shaping up to be absolutely gorgeous and unseasonably warm for this time of year with a forecast high of 61 degrees and mostly sunny skies.
