Prescription Drug Round Up

MINDEN — Partnership Douglas County is teaming up with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to offer a Prescription Drug Round-Up event on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 1038 Buckeye Road in Minden.

DAYTON, Nev. Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey counties is partnering with Lyon County Sheriff’s Department and the DEA to sponsor a "Prescription Drug Disposal” at Smith’s Grocery in Dayton on Saturday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nevada Day and the big parade are just one week away, but first is the annual Carson City Ghost Walk this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in downtown Carson City.

Douglas County is holding a Prescription Drug Round Up on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:

— Walgreens, 1342 U.S. Highway 395 North in Gardnerville.

— Carson Valley Medical Center, 1107 U.S. Highway 395 North in Gardnerville.

— Douglas County Sheriff's Tillman Substation, 1281 Kimmerling Road in Gardnerville.

— East Fork Fire Station No. 4, 1476 Albite Road in Wellington.

— Safeway, 212 Elks Point Road in Round Hill, Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

— Walmart, 3770 U.S. Highway 395 South in Carson City.

The nonprofit Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties is partnering with Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to sponsor a "Prescription Drug Round Up" at Smith’s Grocery in Dayton on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The conveniently located Round Up helps people bring unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.

Collecting expired and unused medications can prevent damage to the water supply that would otherwise result from flushing them down toilets and drains.

Help protect our community and water supply by properly disposing of your unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications and syringes.

Carson City you did it again, you lent a hand and kept our water, waste lands, and citizens safe by properly disposing of 247 pounds of prescription and non-prescription medications and 91 pounds of needles at the April 29th Prescription Drug Round Up.

Partnership Carson City will hold its spring prescription drug roundup on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bring your unused and expired prescription drugs to one of the drop off locations for proper disposal to protect our community and water supply.

Partnership Carson City's Prescription Drug Round Up on Saturday, April 30th collected 194 pounds of medications and 73 pounds of needles. This event was made possible with the support of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Carson City Sheriff's Department, both SaveMarts and Smiths stores, and the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177.

The Prescription Round Up in Carson City held last Saturday brought in 166 pound of medicine, and nearly 30 pounds of syringes, according to Partnership Carson City. The event was held at all three SaveMarts and Smith's.

They’re something we all have but rarely think about, prescription drugs. Partnership Carson City hosted the roundup eliminating the prescription pills and liquids and collected the 30 pounds of syringes to be destroyed.

Partnership Carson City will be hosting the next semi-annual Prescription Drug Round Up Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Round Up stations will be located in front of Smith's Food and Drug, and all three Carson City SaveMart stores. Carson City Sheriff's Reserve Officer Curtis Sakamoto and Rotarians Jeri Duboux and Chuck Borders assisted Partnership Carson City at the Prescription Drug Round Up on Saturday Oct. 5. More than 100 pounds of medications and syringes were collected for disposal by the DEA.

Six Rotarians helped Partnership Carson City facilitate the four round up locations at the three SaveMart stores and Smith's Foods and Drug Store. Unused medications may be taken between the semi annual RX Round Ups to the Carson City Sheriff's Office Drug Drop Box located in the lobby at 911 East Musser Street.
