MINDEN — Partnership Douglas County is teaming up with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to offer a Prescription Drug Round-Up event on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 1038 Buckeye Road in Minden.

The nonprofit Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties is partnering with Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to sponsor a "Prescription Drug Round Up" at Smith’s Grocery in Dayton on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The conveniently located Round Up helps people bring unwanted, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.

Collecting expired and unused medications can prevent damage to the water supply that would otherwise result from flushing them down toilets and drains.

Partnership Carson City collects 194 pounds of meds, 73 pounds of needles in Rx Roundup

Partnership Carson City's Prescription Drug Round Up on Saturday, April 30th collected 194 pounds of medications and 73 pounds of needles. This event was made possible with the support of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Carson City Sheriff's Department, both SaveMarts and Smiths stores, and the Carson City Elks Lodge #2177.

Partnership Carson City collects 166 pounds of meds, 30 pounds of syringes in roundup

The Prescription Round Up in Carson City held last Saturday brought in 166 pound of medicine, and nearly 30 pounds of syringes, according to Partnership Carson City. The event was held at all three SaveMarts and Smith's.

They’re something we all have but rarely think about, prescription drugs. Partnership Carson City hosted the roundup eliminating the prescription pills and liquids and collected the 30 pounds of syringes to be destroyed.

Partnership Carson City teams up with sheriff's office, Rotarians for prescription drug roundup

Carson City Sheriff's Reserve Officer Curtis Sakamoto and Rotarians Jeri Duboux and Chuck Borders assisted Partnership Carson City at the Prescription Drug Round Up on Saturday Oct. 5. More than 100 pounds of medications and syringes were collected for disposal by the DEA.

Six Rotarians helped Partnership Carson City facilitate the four round up locations at the three SaveMart stores and Smith's Foods and Drug Store. Unused medications may be taken between the semi annual RX Round Ups to the Carson City Sheriff's Office Drug Drop Box located in the lobby at 911 East Musser Street.
