Tahoe mystery author Todd Borg featured Wednesday at Nevada State Library in Carson City

Tahoe author Todd Borg will be the featured guest Wednesday in Carson City at the Nevada State Library’s Brown Bag Book series. Borg is the author of 16 books in the Tahoe Mystery series, featuring Owen McKenna, a former homicide inspector from the San Francisco Police Department.

Body of victim in apparent drowning recovered Monday at Lake Tahoe

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit 7 recovered a body from a depth of 1,062 feet in Lake Tahoe on Monday. The recovery was made while searching for a missing person, who reportedly drowned the week prior. The identity of the person has been withheld until the family has been notified.

Carson City man jailed, admits to entering and stealing from home while looking for lost dog

A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday at an Adams Street residence for suspicion of residential burglary and a misdemeanor warrant, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Carson City BMX hosts practice and racing at the track in the Livermore Sports Complex; all ages are invited to participate, and one day memberships are available for those who’d like to try it out.

UPDATE 9:16AM: At least 59 people died and at least 500 wounded in Sunday night's sniper shooting, said Las Vegas Metro Police Department Sheriff Joseph Lombardo. It is the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. Both vehicles associated with the now deceased shooter, Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, have been located as has the female person of interest, Paddock's companion Marilou Danley.
