Paving for Pizza provides engineering, public works classroom for Carson City schoolchildren

Mark Twain Elementary School students from Ms. Jen Allen's third grade class received some real-world instruction outside the classroom Tuesday as the Carson City Public Works Streets Division began filling potholes on the street across from the school.

Carson City awarded $5,000 Domino's 'Paving for Pizza' grant to fix potholes

Residents nominated Carson City for a generous $5,000 grant offered through the Domino’s Paving for Pizza campaign. Paving for Pizza is a creative nationwide initiative to award nominated cities funds to fill potholes. Carson City Public Works proudly accepts this award and is honored to be chosen based on the thoughtful nominations submitted by Carson City’s residents. The courteous gesture of nominating Carson City is praiseworthy.

Fundraiser for Carson City mom battling cancer is Saturday at Flat Earth Pizza

A fundraiser for a Carson City mother who is currently battling stage 4 breast, bone and liver cancer is set for this Saturday, April 27 at Flat Earth Pizza.

The fundraiser for Mila Mangone of Carson City is from opening to closing, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the pizza restaurant, located at 2010 E William Street. Portions of the proceeds collected at the fundraiser will help Mila's treatment plan.

Flat Earth Pizza fundraiser planned for Carson City mom to fight cancer battle

My wife Mila is currently battling stage IV breast, bone, and liver cancer. Last January she was given three weeks to live. Completely bedridden for nearly 10 months, the cancer in her bones broke one pelvis and cracked another, and all of the vertebrae in the back compressed and fractured, which the result was losing six inches of height.

Carson City Sheriff's deputies crack burglary case with two arrests

A man and woman were arrested Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Thursday, Feb. 21, respectively, in connection with a residential burglary investigation in Carson City.

Stephanie Baumgardner and Leonard Martinez, both of Carson City, were taken into custody by Carson City Sheriff's deputies and detectives while investigating the burglary of a disabled resident on Beverly Drive.

Suspects in residential burglary, credit card fraud now in Carson City Sheriff's Office custody

UPDATE 5:53PM: The man and woman who are suspects in a residential burglary and subsequent credit card fraud are now in Carson City Sheriff's Office custody as of Wednesday evening. Details of the arrests are forthcoming. The CCSO Investigations Division wishes to thank the public for tips that helped identify the pair.
