Holy moly. Carson City is hopping with fun times for everyone. Enjoy Saturday downtown with the Third and Curry Farmers Market, the Downtown Business Association Wine Walk, and a free concert at the Brewery Arts Center. Mills Park features the return of the RSVP Carnival with rides, food, booths, games, and more.

Fourth of July celebrations abound in the Carson City area. Fireworks can be found in Carson City, Reno, Sparks, and at both north and south shore of Lake Tahoe. There are several daytime events going on as well, so grab the kids, friends, and family and have a great Independence Day weekend!

With her son graduating from high school, Sue Jones began to rethink her own career as a math teacher at Carson High School. More and more, she was drawn back to retail, where she had gotten her start at the Ace Hardware her father owned in Incline Village.

Then it came to her — in a dream — the store that would help people connect with one another through meaningful gifts.

“I really just woke up with this idea of having a very heartfelt store,” she said.

Heavy rain and lightning suspended the Western Nevada College-College of Southern Nevada baseball series on Thursday afternoon at John L. Harvey Field in Carson City.

The teams will pick up action at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Wildcats batting in the bottom of the fifth inning and the score tied at 2. Weather allowing, the teams will try to play two additional games following the completion of the suspended game.
