Doctor to talk about painkiller addictions and pain management

The public forum begins at 6 p.m. and doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admittance is free but donations are accepted. The location is the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 449 W. King St., Carson City. On Friday, June 19, Dr. Pohl will make a second presentation at noon in Carson City specifically for criminal-justice professionals. Dr. Lali Sekhon performs first OLIF spine surgery in Northern Nevada

The OLIF25 procedure, created just two years ago, is a minimally-invasive surgical technique used to place an interbody graft into the spinal column while minimizing obstacles presented by nerves, bones and muscles. Dr. Sekhon is a highly skilled neurosurgeon with extensive experience in motion preservation techniques and technologies, artificial discs and minimally-invasive surgery.

Through a cooperative agreement between Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe, the Regional Emergency Medical Service Authority (REMSA) and North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, the Mt. Rose Ski Patrol is now able to provide Paramedic level Advanced Life Support for sick and injured guests.
