Nevada Day 2020 announces theme: 'Historic Moments in Nevada'

As our state faces horrific effects from the recent global outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our fellow Nevadans. Together we must stand united, stay positive, and support our fellow neighbors.

Throughout our 156 year history we have encountered floods, fires, mass shootings, recessions, and other disasters, and yet here we are taking on this latest challenge with creative ways while respecting social distance.

Nevada 150 Foundation Historical Marker Legacy Project Finishes in Record Time

The Historical Marker Legacy Project, a part of Nevada’s year-long Sesquicentennial celebration of the State’s admission to the Union through more than 500 official, signature and legacy events, has been finished in record time thanks to the work of the Nevada 150 Commission, YESCO and other community partners.

Letter: Support Small Business or prison inmates?

This is a letter I sent out to Gov. Sandoval, and multiple other State Representatives. I felt that the general public should know what our prison system is doing to multiple small business owners in Carson City and Nevada. I would be very pleased if someone would bring this to light and show what our tax dollars are doing in this economy.

Historic Pony Express to be recognized in Carson City with 'Active Station' designation

The legendary 1860s mail carrier trail known as the Pony Express, which used horses and riders to deliver letters and parcels from Sacramento to east of the Rockies, remains a big part of Nevada's Wild West history because the trail went through the Silver State. Beginning next month the Pony Express will become a permanent fixture and a Carson City visitor destination.

Nevada 150 celebrates statehood with events through July

Many celebrations are scheduled statewide in the month of July. These Nevada 150 celebrate all things Nevada and bring awareness to the 150th Anniversary of Statehood. The following events are held July 18 through July 31.

July 4 fireworks spectacular over Carson City light up the night

Thank you Dick Campagni's Carson City Toyota-Scion, Cumulus Radio Magic 95.5 FM, Carson City and all the organizers and contributors who made this year's Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza at Mills Park in Carson City possible. The event was filled with great music, lights and amazing eye-candy.
