Award Winning Poet David Lee Offers Reading Nov. 2 in Silver City

November 2, 2019 - 1:00pm SILVER CITY, Nev. — Poet David Lee was a visiting artist at the Resident Artist Program in Silver City in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and will be back again this winter. His repeated stays in the historic Comstock town inspired his latest book of poems, Mine Tailings. It is dedicated to the people of Silver City. The book was released by 5 Sisters Press this Fall, and will be the focus of Lee’s reading at the Silver City Schoolhouse (community center) on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m.

May 27, 2017 - 1:00pm The Resident Artist Program in Silver City, Nevada announces poet David Lee's return to Silver City this spring.
He'll offer another of his extraordinary readings at the Silver City School House at 385 High Street on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1pm. James Hoggard, the former poet laureate of Texas, writes,“Lee’s poems will make you laugh till your tears make it impossible to see the page.”
Named one of the 12 greatest writers to ever emerge from the state by Utah Endowment for the Humanities, David Lee was Utah’s first and longest serving poet laureate.
Acclaimed Poet David Lee Comes to Nevada

SILVER CITY — While he's in Nevada teaching a graduate level course on poetry at University of Nevada, Reno, acclaimed poet David Lee will also offer poetry readings on the Comstock in historic Silver City (dates to be determined).
