South Lake Tahoe ski patroller identified in fatal incident at Heavenly
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 01/19/2020 - 11:34amUPDATE: The man who died Saturday has been identified as 36-year-old Christopher John Nicholson of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Nicholson was a member of the Heavenly Ski Patrol and had been working that day. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Washoe County Coroner’s Office is working to identify a cause of death, according to a DCSO news release.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — An employee with Heavenly Mountain Resort was involved in a serious accident Saturday, resulting in his death.

Andersen Ranch Estates subdivision approved by Carson City Board of Supervisors

One confirmed fatality at Tahoe Ski Resort Avalanche Friday morning
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 01/17/2020 - 1:52pmUPDATE 3:42 p.m.: Search and Rescue and PCSO have called off the search and are confirming there are no further victims of the avalanche to be found. Cole Comstock, 34, of Blairsden, CA has been identified as the deceased in the avalanche that occurred at Alpine Meadows.

According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), there is one confirmed fatality and a second victim with serious injuries following an avalanche at Alpine Meadows in Lake Tahoe.
Greenhouse Project dinner fundraiser, comedy, live music and more: Carson City region readies for upcoming weekend

It seems from the moment I open my eyes in the morning, I am going non-stop on everything from my new radio show on KNVC (Business Therapy, Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30 to 8 a.m.) to the needs of a variety of companies. Honestly, it can get a little overwhelming. It’s overwhelming until I realize there a sure-fire cure for overwhelm — take one strategic action.

The National Weather Service chart above includes selected locations where wind gusts of 50 mph or above were reported.
Obituary: Robert Paul Pier

Bob was born on August 10, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana as the youngest of nine children, Bob was 88 years old.
22 bighorn sheep to be re-introduced to Pyramid Lake range

High Wind Warning tonight through Tuesday for Carson City region

Bobcat spotted resting in Southwest Carson after a lunch of a neighbor's pet duck

Mountain lion spotted in northwest Carson City, NDOW urges awareness, safe practices

Forest Service firefighter from Lake Tahoe deployed to Australia; BLM sends Carson City fuels program manager

Two are already there, with four on the way including a Fuels Program Manager from Carson City who is serving as a plans chief. Other personnel are from the Battle Mountain District, an assistant Superintendent for the Silver State Hotshots, a helicopter supervisor from the Elko District and an Engine Captain from Southern Nevada.

Carson City’s first 'Unsilent Night' happens Sunday at BAC as part of worldwide music event

An original composition by Phil Kline, "Unsilent Night" was written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer.
Carson City wins Levitt Amp Concert Series Grant for Fifth Straight Year
