Man jailed for obstructing an officer after refusing to sign traffic citation

A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 25, 9:31 p.m. near Nevada and Park streets. He face misdemeanor charges of driving with an expired registration, no proof of insurance and obstructing an officer.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded on a call of a possible DUI driver. The man was stopped by a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant for having expired California registration on his vehicle and was unable to provide proof of insurance.

Douglas County authorities search for 21-year-old woman

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is looking for Kayla Denboer, 21, who was last seen in May and is now considered a missing person. Family members say she may be in the Carson City or Reno areas.

Authorities say Denboer is approximately 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. She had been staying at Everybody's Inn motel in Reno when family lost contact with her.

Anyone with information regarding Kayla Denboer is urged to call DCSO Investigator Ed Garren at (775) 782-9907.

Carson City Sheriff's Office seeks help in finding missing man

Carson City authorities are looking for a man who has been missing for about a month. Christopher "Chris" Cash is a caucasian male, 55 years of age, 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighs 200 to 250 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray to brown hair.

Cash is from Carson City and was reported missing July 15. He has not been taking his medication. Several inquires at the places he frequents have shown that he has not been seen for about a month, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Detective Doug Speegle of the Investigation Division.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office seeks help in woman reported missing

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigators are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 63-year-old woman. Kathy Arlana Hammond was reported as a missing person by a friend on Sunday, Feb. 17. Hammond was last seen at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.

Hammond is reported to be mentally unstable, and has threatened suicide in the past. Hammond is reported to be driving a 4-door 1993 Subaru Legacy sedan, teal green in color, bearing California license plate 3CKF797.

Douglas County authorities ask for help in locating couple wanted for questioning over unresolved murder

Authorities are asking the public for help in locating a couple wanted for questioning in the murder of Minnesota man whose remains were found in a shallow grave found earlier this year in a backcountry area of Douglas County.
The skeletal remains of Francisco Alejandro Lopez-Gonzalez, who was reported missing since May 2011 by family members, were discovered in a shallow grave on Feb. 22. His death was ruled a homicide.

Crime Log: 90-year-old Carson City woman missing

A missing persons report was filed with the Carson City Sheriff's Office at around 9 a.m. Monday for a 90-year-old woman on blood pressure medication. According to the incident report, the missing person - Kitty Webb - has not been found. She was alleged to have last been seen in a white Ford F-150 with Nevada license plates.

Vehicle of missing woman found

Douglas County Sheriff's deputies have located the vehicle belonging to a Gardnerville woman missing since Friday, and believe she was killed when it rolled down an embankment near the East Fork of the Carson River.

Loraine Bosch of Gardnerville was last reported to be heading to the FISH Thrift store in Carson City in her 1986 green Ford truck on Friday. That vehicle was located Monday night, heavily damaged with a body trapped inside.

Charles Michael Mose ID'd as man found dead near Carson River on Saturday

The body of a man found Saturday near the Carson River in north Douglas County has been identified as Charles Michael Mose, 43.

The Nevada Threat Analysis Center (NTAC) seeks information on unsolved Nevada rural county female homicides and missing person cases.

Carson City begins emergency notification telephone system

Carson City has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System which is described as an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications.

This system allows Carson City officials to telephone all or targeted areas of the city in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action, such as a boil-water notice, a missing child or evacuation notices.

Carson City School District is looking at a similar notification system.
