Carson City Supervisors to discuss rifle range, emergency housing grants, new subdivisions and more

The next Carson City Board of Supervisor’s meeting will take place Thursday, Jan. 21 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room in the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Up for discussion includes improvements to the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range, Grants for emergency housing, the proposed Little Lane Village subdivision and more.

Proposed 'Andersen Ranch Estates' Developer Meet and Greet returns full house Friday

Residents overflowed a small conference room of the Carson City Library Friday afternoon where a public meeting was held to discuss plans for the proposed Andersen Ranch Estate subdivision. The developer, Christy Corporation LTD., hosted the meeting to discuss their lot plans. They also opened the floor to current residents of the neighborhood to voice their questions and concerns.

Carson City Leisure Hour Club Meets a Self-Declared Space Junkie

Carson City resident Maxine Hauser Nietz will share her love of space and her work with NASA during the Leisure Hour Club’s September meeting. The organization will begin its 124th year on Wednesday, Sept. 18 with Nietz’s presentation and a business meeting.

Vintage at Kings Canyon to come before Carson City Planning Commission Nov. 28

The Project known as Vintage at Kings Canyon (the Andersen Ranch) is again before city officials. The applicants are asking for an amendment to the originally approved Planned Unit Development (PUD) from December of 2016.

Celebrating 25 years, the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights held at the steps of the Nevada State Capitol Building has become a Carson City Christmas card to the world.

Christmas season kicks off Dec. 5 with Carson City hometown celebration

The Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights will officially kick off Friday evening, Dec. 5 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the steps of the State Capitol in Carson City.

Now in its 25th year, the annual event is sponsored by the Carson City Redevelopment Authority as part of their efforts to showcase the downtown core and to bring families together to enjoy the advent of the holiday season.
