Carson City, Quad County Tuesday COVID briefing: Positive cases soar more than 1K in week

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 that there has been a significant increase in positive cases over the last week. Since Nov. 16, 2020, CCHHS has received over 1,000 positive results for the Quad-County region. Due to the high volume of cases, not all positive cases have been contacted. CCHHS is working to investigate the cases and reduce the back log in positive results.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020. The individual was a Carson City resident. Search warrant at Dayton residence leads to 446 grams of meth, stolen firearms

A multi-agency law enforcement investigation led authorities to approximately 446 grams of methamphetamine, multiple stolen firearms and other stolen property after a search warrant was executed at a Dayton residence earlier this month, according to the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

We are reporting 2 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individuals were a Carson City and a Douglas County resident.

We are also reporting 51 new cases and 32 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,920, with 2,151 recoveries and 32 deaths; 737 cases remain active.

Lyon County again flagged for elevated COVID transmission in Nevada

The Nevada COVID Task Force has notified Lyon County that they are to remain flagged for elevated COVID test positivity rates. October 12, 2020 Lyon County saw a test positivity of 8.2 percent and has experienced an increase week after week since then. As of Monday, Lyon County sits at a rate of 19.0 percent.
