The Mason Valley Beekeepers will present a "Bees and Beekeeping" workshop on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 in Yerington, Nev.

Is beekeeping on your bucket list? Need help getting started. A one-day workshop for beginning beekeepers will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the Catholic Center, 311 Virginia St, Yerington, Nev. The workshop is focused and designed for individuals with little or no beekeeping experience.

UPDATE: Organizers say due to an overwhelming response, the apple picking has finished as there are no more apples to sell. Organizers say they will bring the picking back next year.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include Polar Express train rides, Touched By Angels hosts a garden craft show on Saturday, a night photo shoot at the Nevada State museum, Rob Sherwood headlines the Carson Comedy Club at the Carson Nugget, 'Matilda the Musical' and more!

Touched by Angels in Carson City will host a Home and Garden Craft Show this Saturday at 205 East John Street. Celebrating its 9th year, the show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be great food and a raffle. See the beautiful creations of 29 local artisans metal work, bird houses, local honey, jewelry and much more.

Just seven tickets remain for the 11th annual Celebrity Chef & Harvest Dinner, to benefit The Greenhouse Project takes place Monday, Nov. 11 at the Governor’s Mansion, Nevada Room in Carson City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $200 and must be purchased in advance; none will be sold at the door.

Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! It’s going to get hot again today with a high of 93, but don’t worry, as we get out further into the week the weather will turn more autumnal with highs in the 70s. It could be the last hot day for a while, at least until a freak 90s+ hot day in November followed by a week long blizzard, so enjoy it while it’s here!

The early farmers market hosted by Due Sorella (Two Sisters) is up and running with spring produce ready for your table.

Located in the parking lot behind 202 N. Curry Street, the market will be open for business every Saturday through May 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This will be the final weekend for a chance to bring the family to the Apple Basket for an amazing and unique adventure at the only u-pick organic apple orchard in northern Nevada. Load up the kids, pack a picnic, at head to the great outdoors. Don’t miss out on the last-of-the-season Farmers Market at Third and Curry, stock up on local honey and load your basket with yummy stuff. June has arrived, and with it the start of the seasonal Third and Curry Farmer's Market, which runs all summer long now through September.

The weekly Saturday market attracts hundreds to the parking lot at Third and Curry Streets across from the Bob McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City, drawing crowds from all around the Reno-Tahoe region.

Summer? Winter? Flip a coin. I could’ve guessed the rain was coming, my lilacs just started to bloom. Don’t let your parade get rained out though, downtown Carson will march right through this wet stuff. The early Spring Farmers Market debuts today behind Due Sorella at Nevada and Musser Streets. Grab the kids and enjoy today’s open house with free admission at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. Stick around for the monthly Downtown Business Association wine walk and find something for Mothers’ Day at one of our wonderful local shops.

Holy moly, it’s going to be a busy weekend: busy and gorgeous out. A bowling tournament and the Comstock Shootout Soccer tournament have the hotels and motels busting at the seams. Breezy afternoon winds Wednesday deterred neither vendors nor shoppers at the opening of the Wednesday Farmer's Market, located along Curry Street between Third and Fourth.

Contra Dance with Sierra Contra Dance Society to live music by Local Honey Band on Oct. 13, 2013 in the Old Liberty School (Old Southside School Building / Reno Parks and Rec.), 190 E. Liberty St., Reno.

The dance starts at 7:30PM. New-dancer orientation starts at 7:15PM.

Contra dancing is similar to line dancing and square dancing, and it's always done to LIVE music. It's easy to learn, and a caller calls out all the dance moves. It's fun, sociable and aerobic.
