June events launch the 2021 Summer Festival at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park. On Sunday, June 13, at 10:00 am, author and entertainer CW Bayer will give a presentation on his book, Strychnine Banjo, written about Jake Wallace, Charley Rhoades and "The Days of '49.”

Chris Boline, Kevin Brunet, Gabbi Hall, Bryan Haskin and David Zybert have been elected to the board of directors of NCET, a member-supported non-profit that produces educational and networking events to help people explore businesses and technology.

Boline, elected as NCET’s vice president of social media and image management, works as a lead-generation specialist with The Applied Companies in Reno.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Dozens of sweets are in store for Saturday. The American Association of University Women holds its 20th annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson Plaza and Event Center. Artsy Fartsy Gallery hosts its 9th annual Jewelry and Chocolate Show with several new decorative pieces. To cap-off Saturday, the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra makes its way to the capital city.

Heading into last day of 2019, we're looking at partly sunny skies with a high around 50 and low around 30. Activities around the capital city region are lined up through the day and evening. As we head into the final Monday of 2019, we're looking at a slight chance of light snow in the morning as a weak weather system brushes the region. Events around the Carson City area include a driver's education class offered through Western Nevada College Continuing Education, a luncheon featuring Patricia Ackerman, a Democratic primary candidate for Nevada's 2nd Congressional District, art activities and more.

Come celebrate the new year with popular local band, The Lost Reverends of the High Sierra in the Cabaret in Casino Fandango, 3800 South Carson St., New Year’s Eve from 9:00PM until 1:00AM.

The Lost Reverends are well known for their fun and energetic shows, covering genres such as rock, blues, country and even a show tune or two. Front man and lead singer, Dougie L is also known to bust out some American Songbook classics from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and others.

Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series presented by The Change Companies began with a full house last week and the party will continue this Saturday, June 29 at the Brewery Arts Center with reggae sensation Jordan T. So grab your family, friends and neighbors and get ready to experience the power of free, live music to bring our community together.

Blu Jaz will perform this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, at Bella Fiore Wines in Carson City. The four-piece band has quite a following. Blu Jaz performa a steady diet of blues and jazz coupled with a few dance upbeat songs.

They're becoming somewhat a fixture at Bella Fiore Wines, located at 224 S. Carson Street in the McFadden Plaza. The band consists of Myke Smith, on saxes, Bradley Harris, guitarist and harmonica, Paul Bonaldi, on drums and Tim Goldsmith on bass.

Headed into Saturday, April 27, 2019 we're looking at another picture-perfect spring weather day and cool overnight temperatures. There's lots of activities ahead, including a colorful fun run at Mills Park, a free paper and document recycling event hosted by Debug Computer, a prescription drug roundup, the Silver State's own celebration of the Aloha State, a Carson High School speech team fundraiser at Flavors of India, art showings and sales and a fundraiser at Flat Earth Pizza for a wonderful Carson City woman who is in the throes of cancer. Jordan T’s musical career began in Maui, where he had formed a local band and was soon given the call to play guitar for touring reggae bands like Maoli and Katchafire. With the help of fans, Jordan T was able to fund his debut album “Bridges with the Vibes” in 2017. With a surplus he and his fans raised, Jordan T contacted Habitat for Humanity in Nicaragua and aided in building houses for those in need.

After 5 years and more than 1500 cats and kittens saved, Catmandu is hosting their first ever big event on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Carson Nugget Casino, 507 Carson Street, Carson City! “Caturday Night Out,” a fun-filled night for animal lovers, will include dinner, music and dancing with live band One Way Street, door prizes, a raffle, and auction.

Doors open at 5 pm. A buffet dinner featuring both a vegetarian and meat option starts at 6 pm. Emcee Monty Wolf of KOH radio takes the stage after dinner for the raffle, prizes and auction or silent auction.

The 2018 Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series held its ninth of 10 free public outdoor concerts Saturday night, delivering the sounds of Americana to another packed crowd at the Brewery Arts Center.

Head down to Mills Park for a great time. The annual Rockabilly Riot features cool cars, contests, and plenty of rock-n-roll. New local acoustic band Stonewood debuted Saturday night in front of a full house inside the Zen Den at A to Zen Gifts and Thrift on North Carson Street in Carson City.

A new local band is set to debut in Carson City with musical sound that has been 40 years in the making.

Stonewood, an acoustical vocal harmony band assembled locally in Carson City, takes the A to Zen stage on Saturday, May 5 for a break-out concert.

The Brewery Arts Center continues an unforgettable season of free, family-friendly concerts under the stars in Carson City this Saturday featuring headliner Thee Commons coming fresh from the Coachella music festival and opening act Whatitdo.

Lake Tahoe area folk rock duo Ten Dollar Pony will perform Americana and Urban Folk music at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park at 6:30 pm this Thursday, August 3.

From Knoxville and Nashville, Southern Drawl Band's energetic tunes encompass the best bits of Southern rock and country from the backwoods of Tennessee.

The five-piece band Mo’z Motley Blues will perform blues, rock pop and soul at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 22.

The Carson City Off-Road will bring some of the country’s best mountain bike riders into Carson City for the weekend. But the event isn’t just about cycling.
