Family Yoga classes offered at Carson City Yoga beginning April 20

In this class, families with children (ages 4-12) are invited to come and explore various aspects of yogic practice together. There will be a variety of poses, songs and activities based around a monthly theme reflecting on a core element of yoga practice.

This book has been successfully put-together with the “Fair Use Law” in mind.

While Columbus Day is usually not celebrated in Nevada, it is a professional development day for our school district. Take the kids to Carson Lanes for $1 bowling. Carson Library is offering a Makerspace for Kids this afternoon with hands-on STEAM activities that make learning fun. It’s the Buccaneers versus the Panthers for Monday Night Football: drink specials can be found all over town. Sing the ‘weekend’s over’ blues during karaoke at the Firkin and Fox.

Carson City students show KNPB they are ready to learn

The visit was part of KNPB’s Ready To Learn workshops, which bring special learning topics into classrooms around the Reno-Sparks and Carson City areas.
Thursday's guest educators taught students about the forces of motion, KNPB Ready To Learn Facilitator Joy Foremaster said.
Dayton Elementary's Ashley Hogan named Nevada History Teacher of the Year
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 05/21/2015 - 1:12pmOn Wednesday, May 20, Mrs. Ashley Hogan, a 6th grade teacher at Dayton Elementary School, was awarded the State of Nevada History Teacher of the Year from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
As the state winner for Nevada, Mrs. Ashley Hogan receives a monetary prize, certificate of recognition, an archive of books and historical resources for her classroom, and recognition at a ceremony in Nevada. She is now vying for the National History Teacher of the Year award which will be chosen in the fall from 52 other state winners.
Child care center opens at Carson Lanes in Carson City

This state-licensed child care center is available for 38 children from ages infant to 5 years of age. Director Kassie Shepard has more than 15 years experience in the childcare field working and specializes in infants and toddlers.
