Farmers Insurance District office in Carson City has partnered with L.A. Bakery to bring treats to Carson City “Heroes on the front line.” For the past several weeks deliveries have been made to fire stations, Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

The new expansion will connect to the existing bakery on John Street and add additional seating and meeting space.

It is evident with the opening of two new businesses that offer social gathering art classes and the enjoyment of adult libations, music and tasty tidbits. Both of these creative businesses have opened within two weeks of each other.

Carson City is going to the dogs this weekend.

“We’re showcasing that Carson City is a dog-friendly community,” said Lisa Schuette, president of the Carson Animal Services Initiative, which is raising money for a new and improved animal shelter.

Coinciding with Bonanza Kennel Club’s annual AKC Dog Show at Fuji Park on today and Sunday, CASI is organizing a weekend of activities for the pups.
The seventh annual Pooch Plunge will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today at the outdoor pool of the Carson City Aquatic Facility.

Please join CASI for two great dog friendly events this weekend. On Saturday, we are hosting the Pooch Plunge at the outdoor pool, 841 North Roop Street, from 9-3. If your dog likes to swim, this is the event! There will be a ramp, tennis balls, towels, and dog treats. Cost is $10 for the first dog, and $5 for additional dogs.

The Carson City run of Proscenium Players, Inc., murder mystery production of “The Wedding from Hell!” is being extended for two additional weekends at the Brewery Arts Center as a murder mystery dessert buffet show.

Performance dates are Fridays, Feb. 21, and Feb. 28 and Saturdays, Feb. 22 and March 1 at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a Saturday, March 1 matinee performance at 2 p.m. This will be a fundraiser performance for the Carson City Senior Citizen’s Center with all the proceeds going to the Senior Meals Programs.
