Over the course of the month of June, the Aktion Club painted 30 flower pots and planted live flowers in them. In early July, the flowers were donated to Brookdale Senior Living in Gardnerville to be distributed to the residents there.
Volunteers from Carson Valley Medical Center assisted club members with the planting on July 2.
I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: March 24 - 25
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 03/23/2018 - 2:08pmThe weekend has arrived, and it will be an exceptionally long one for the schoolkids of Carson City: spring break begins Monday. There’s a rumor of snowfall for this weekend, but it’s not expected to be too heavy in the valley. Don’t quote me on that, though, I’ve been wrong before. Break a leg to the Douglas students performing in ‘Game of Tiaras’ this weekend; the show sounds hilarious, but be warned, it’s not for kids. For a family friendly outing, check out Story Time with Suzie at the Nevada Railroad Museum, or photos with the Easter Bunny at PetSmart.

Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 04/07/2017 - 5:50pmIt’s not the sunny spring weekend many of us were hoping for, but it’s here nonetheless. Start the day at Applebee’s for a Flapjack Fundraiser to benefit the Eagle Valley Middle School Robotics Team. TOCCATA kicks off its 12th season of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion; enjoy free admittance to today’s dress rehearsal at Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church. No matter what your interests, this valley offers something for everyone. Keep reading for this weekend’s options.

I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: Jan. 21 – 22
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 01/20/2017 - 6:24pmAs this storm system moves in, it makes it difficult for list-makers, such as myself. I cannot predict which of these events will be affected or cancelled because of the snow. The show must go on for the kids of Youth Theater Carson City. ‘The Lion King, Jr.’ is in its final weekend of performances.
I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: March 19-20
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 03/18/2016 - 8:57pmThe spring thaw has arrived, and my event list is getting longer. Carson City has some fun stuff happening this weekend, so please take a look. If you haven’t made it to see Wild Horse Children’s Theater’s production of Disney’s The Aristocats, Kids, or the Carson High spring musical, ‘Kiss Me, Kate.’ what are you waiting for? Keep your eyes peeled for Girl Scouts, this is the last weekend of cookie sales.
