CCAI will host a free reception for the artist, Tuesday, August 15, 5-7pm in the Sierra Room. The exhibit will be in the gallery from July 7 – November 9, 2017. The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street, Carson City.

UNR to award most-ever degrees through four Spring Commencement ceremonies

The commencement exercises will take place over four ceremonies in three days: Thursday, May 18; Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 and will be on the University’s historic Quad, located on the southern part of campus.

Former investigative reporter Frank Mullen to channel Dan DeQuille at Gold Hill Hotel
Submitted by editor on Mon, 02/27/2017 - 11:22amJournalist Frank X. Mullen will channel a colleague from the past March 3 at the Gold Hill Hotel’s Friday Night Showcase when he offers a presentation on “Dan DeQuille, The Washoe Giant.”
DeQuille was a compatriot of Sam Clemens, aka Mark Twain, when both worked at the Territorial Enterprise in the 1860s. However, unlike Twain, DeQuille stayed on the Comstock for more than 30 years, and didn’t achieve the fame of his fellow journalist Twain.

Horses gather at the refurbished watering fountain during Nevada Day Parade

This was a wonderful flashback to the original purpose of the fountains and the rebuild this year.

CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Friday, June 3, 5-7pm and the artists will give brief talks about their work at 5:30pm. The show will be open to the public Monday – Friday, 8am -5pm from June 3 – September 29, 2016. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free.

UNR names Kerri Garcia Director of Communications at the University

Garcia will lead the University’s efforts in internal and external communications, media relations and will serve as the institution’s primary spokesperson.
Garcia, a 1992 graduate of the University who previously was Community Relations and Communications Manager with Microsoft in Reno, begins work on April 1.
