Reno has been presenting TubaChristmas performances since 1989 and the organizers aren't going to let a little global pandemic stop their fun this year! They invite tuba, euphonium, and baritone horn players of all ages to join virtual Reno TubaChristmas 2020.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. A Thanksgiving Turkey Drop for families in need will be held Friday at Max Casino. The holiday movie premieres of “Feliz NaviDAD” and “Once Upon A Main Street” on Saturday will feature different venues in Carson City. Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a Las Vegas Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs game watch at 5 p.m. Sunday, at Jimmy G's, 301 N. Carson St. Game time is at 5:20 p.m. and will be a home game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

This year the Carson Nugget in Carson City will celebrate its 63rd annual Community Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome to join us in the Grand Ballroom. All guests will receive a free 8-inch turkey sandwich, stuffing, cranberry sauce and more.

Join two of your favorite Disney Princesses for an entertaining and fun interactive workshop, through Carson City's Wild Horse Theater, to build literary skills using imagination and creativity. Workshop includes storytelling, singing, interactive movements and, most importantly, having fun.

Be a part of bringing hope by voting on contestant art pieces to decide the “Social Media Fave” in the Donor Network West annual art contest. Four Carson High students, Anthony Larry, Connor Lampert, Danielle Van Dusen, and Sarai Jauregui Rivas made the first cut, though all of CHS Graphic Design Instructor Patricia Ababio’s students submitted entries.

Join us once a month to relax through art! Every month we will explore a different technique to use art to help de-stress. For the month of November, create a beautiful glass vase from a recycled glass bottle. The glass bottle will be provided by the library. Pick up your take home kit at the info desk. Sophie Schler of Reno made history on November 12, 2020 when she became one of the nation’s first female Eagle Scouts – a prestigious achievement attained by some of the country’s most noteworthy figures. Join us in celebrating Veterans Day 2020. Due to most Veterans Day parades and other celebrations being cancelled this November because of COVID-19, Nevada Department of Veterans Services produced a video with support from the Nevada veterans and community leaders across the state highlighting what Veterans Day means to them, along with the following anniversaries:

— The 75th anniversary of the end of WWII;
— The 70th anniversary of the outbreak of Korean War;
— The 67th anniversary of the alliance between U.S.A. and the Republic of Korea; and
— The 30th Anniversary of the outbreak of the 1st Gulf War.

The Carson City Host Lions Club is pleased to announce the winning entries in the Nevada Day Chalk Art Contest held on Oct. 31. The contest was open to all Carson City residents, households and businesses. Contestants created chalk art masterpieces on their own driveways or sidewalks based on the Nevada Day theme of “My Favorite Moment in Nevada.”

Mr. Victor Garcia-Mendez, an English Second Language paraprofessional at Mark Twain Elementary School in Carson City, was one of only two school employees nominated by Gov. Steve Sisolak to represent Nevada in the national selection process for the Recognizing Inspirational School Employees Award.

On a beautiful Northern Nevada day, werewolves, pirates, escaped prisoners, witches, scuba divers, a Top Gun Tom Cruise look-alike, and other costumed creatures came out in force on Friday, October 30th to play in the Halloween Golf Scramble held at Silver Oak Golf to support the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.
