Thousands packed the Carson High School football field on Saturday to watch over 500 graduating seniors receive their diplomas at the Class of 2019, according to Carson High School Principal Tasha Fuson.

The Carson City Arts Initiative (CCAI) is delighted to present High School Pic[ks] 2 in the Community Development Building (the Brick) at 108 East Proctor Street in Carson City with 50 pieces of art by 41 students from four high schools, including Carson and Pioneer high schools.

As soon as John Rupert, 15, could walk, he started learning the traditional dances of his Native American forefathers.
“We have all my regalia in all different sizes,” said John, the son of a Washoe father and Paiute mother. “I think it’s cool. Not many people can say they go to powwows on the weekends.”
