A report updating the growth management projections for Carson City has been released by the Carson City Community Development Department, concluding that build-out of residential master plan areas will not exceed the city's build-out population.

Home sales throughout Lake Tahoe continued to slow throughout the first half of the year, while home prices remained steady, according to a quarterly report released by Lake Tahoe-based real estate company Chase International. Despite an 18 percent decline in overall sales volume, the figures are still significantly higher than those of 2012.

Based on a continued increase in Buyer demand and historically low levels of home inventory and interest rates, the median price of Carson City homes is up 14% over January, 2013 home prices. The number of homes sold in January, 2014 is also up 35% from January, 2013; there were 35 single family homes sold in Carson City in January, 2014.

I received a call from the Builders Association of Western Nevada this afternoon about a big property tax increase the Carson City Board of Supervisors is going to vote on tomorrow.
