With activities lining up around the capital city through the weekend, Thursday events around the region include a meeting of the Healthy Communities Coalition in Silver Springs, an afternoon hike hosted by Muscle Powered, and a Carson City CASA volunteer information hour and training seminar. Carson Tahoe Health, Rotary of Carson City celebrate Labyrinth anniversary and partnership

Wednesday marks 13 years since the opening of the outdoor Labyrinth located at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. The unique space was made possible through a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Carson City.

In 2006, under the leadership of past president Rafael Cappucci, the Rotary Club contributed $75,000 to build the Labyrinth, and gave another $200,000 in support of the Cancer Center project over a four-year period.

This relaxing, six-week qigong series promotes balance and renewal, perfect for this holiday season. Healing Qigong Part 1 consists of ten easy movements with an emphasis on gathering “chi” from the universe and learning how to move energy throughout the body.

The movements will be broken down step by step and each class in the series will build upon the previous one.

Pet food drive underway at Michael Hohl Motor Company in Carson City

Through the month of October, Michael Hohl Motor Company in Carson City will collect pet food donations to fill a pickup truck with pet food to support Pets of the Homeless. The dealership will donate all supplies to Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH, rural northern Nevada’s largest social services program.

This weekend, I was blessed to attend Gaia Gathering — an impactful gathering of healers from all walks of life. I was surrounded by many modalities of healing from a variety of cultures: artists, medicine men and women, yogis, energy healers, and spiritualists. Girl Scout 'Take Action' project helps Carson City based Pets of the Homeless

CARSON CITY — The national nonprofit, Feeding the Pets of the Homeless, welcomed the generous donation of pet blankets made by Samantha Amthein and Rachel Bush of local Girl Scout Troop No. 210.

Nineteen colorfully patterned fleece blankets were made by the girl scouts for their "Take Action for Changing the World" project.

Realty Executives Nevada’s Choice, A Network Partner with Feeding Pets of the Homeless

Carson City, NV – Realty Executives Nevada’s Choice was welcomed in June 2019 by the national nonprofit, Feeding Pets of the Homeless as a Donation Site. Donations of pet food and supplies can be taken to 800 E. College Parkway, Carson City, NV and will then be delivered to a local food bank, homeless shelter or homeless encampment. Feeding Pets of the Homeless is the only national network focused completely on feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless.
