Residents gathered in the parking lot of the blighted Henrikson Building to take a ceremonial swing of the hammer — to say goodbye to an eyesore of a building whose useful life came to an end years ago. They were also there to celebrate what will soon take shape as Tahoe City’s first new hotel in more than 60 years.
Nevada jobs report shows growth in August, unemployment unchanged

Fall Pruning: Some trees, shrubs are OK to trim, others are best to wait it out until spring

Late summer and early fall pruning can encourage new growth, which will not have time to harden off before freezes occur. If freeze damage happens, the health of the plant can be adversely affected. This is particularly true for roses, which should not get pruned until April.

Weather conditions will be especially dangerous along the 395 corridor from Susanville to Mammoth Lakes.
