FREE Employment Preparation Workshops

Free Employment Prep Workshops are being offered Tuesday, June 24 through Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Carson City JOIN office, 1925 N. Carson St., Carson City. Participants are asked to arrive at least five minutes early as the workshops begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 11:30 a.m.

Session I (Tuesday) topic is "Life Skills/Job Search." The goal is to impart basic life, workplace, job search and employment preparation skills to ensure participant success during job acquisition and retention phases.

Session I: Life Skills / Job Search

JOIN, Inc. provides FREE Workshops monthly. The first day is on Lifeskills, Job Search and Networking; the second day is on prefecting your 60 Second Me; the third day is Resume building; and the last day is on Interviewing Skills. Update your skills with these workshops which are held monthly and are free to anyone interested. JOIN's FREE workshops are the last week of every month. This month they will begin on Tuesday, March 25th through Friday, March 28th from 8:30 to 11:30 and are being held at The Salvation Army, 661 Colorado Street, Carson City. The first day will be on LifeSkills and Job Search; the second day is on selling yourself with your 60-Second Me; the third day is Resumes and Applications; the last day will is Interviewing. UPDATE: With extended federal jobless benefits in peril, Carson City workforce employee counselors say hundreds of new jobseekers have begun to hit the streets, resumes in hand, looking for work.
