Planes, trains, and automobiles take over Carson City this weekend. Steampunk ‘N’ Trains at the Nevada Railroad Museum features train rides, fun costumes, food trucks and more. You’ll find two car shows in town – the Party at the Pavilion as part of the Nevada State Fair and the Carson City Downtown Revival Car Show at the Carson Nugget. The Carson Airport Fly-In and Open House has plenty of aeronautic fun in store. You’ll have to keep reading for all of the fun options in Carson City and the surrounding valleys.

Beware, or you'll suffer from fun stuff overload. The State Fair and Rendezvous continues at Mills Park, and now you can head into the Pavilion and get your car or bike registered for the Show and Shine. Shiny cars are also welcome at the Carson Cruise - Meet and Greet's Summer Cruise Night: start out at Bully's Sports Bar and you'll convoy down to McFadden Plaza for the Fridays at the Fox Concert Series Kick-off. Shane Dwight takes the stage to get weekend off to a great start.

Thursday is something to celebrate. The long-awaited Nevada State Fair kicks off in Mills Park with a ribbon cutting by Governor Sandoval. Grab the kids, your friends, and family and enjoy carnival rides, county exhibits, civil war reenactments and much more. Our neighbors to the south are celebrating, too: the 106th Annual Carson Valley Days is this weekend. If you’re looking for something quieter, the lecture on the Civil War at the Gold Hill Hotel or an author’s talk on the Ghost Railroads of Central Nevada at the Nevada State Railroad Museum might be a better bet.

The Freaks of Nature is hosting a car show will be held at Yogurt Beach at 3228 N. Carson St. Carson City NV 89706 on the side parking lot by Valley Realty. On September 12th from 10am to 3pm. There will be a 50 / 50 raffle. The registration is $20 dollars and this is a free event for spectators.

Trophies include top 15, and special picks. There will be a BBQ for FREE provided by Yogurt Beach , bounce house and some amazing activities for the kids. Most definitely will wanna bring the kids. Registration starting at 10 am and ending at 1pm with trophies at 3pm.

Lennon Family Show N' Shine Fundraiser

The Lennon’s are not ones to ask for help or put their financial problems out there for everyone to know, however, the unexpected medical bills have began to pile up and the family is in need.

The Show ’N Shine is being put on by Freaks of Nature Truck Club in conjunction with Johnny Rockets. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot.

Results from Legends of the West 2012 Bike and Car Fest

Legends of the West Bike and Car Fest 2012 has announced the winners of its Show and Shine, held on June 30 in downtown Carson City. A great day was had by all – the weather cooperated – and people strolled among the beautiful vehicles and chatted with the owners and restorers. The CCSO 9th Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge attracted a dedicated crowd who watched all the competitors and cheered their favorites on to victory in all the competitions – Continuous Ride, Slow Ride, Team Ride, and the spectacular Last Man Standing.

Registration is from 9-11am and trophies at 3pm. This event is Open to all makes and models, including bikes! Registration is $15. There will be Live Music, Food provided by Dickie's BBQ, Art by Air Face Painting by Lynzie, Fresh Lemonade, Les Schwab Tires and many more vendors. We even brought out the bounce house for the kids. Care 4 Caden Show n Shine

Caden Huarte is only 6 years old but is in a battle for his life! Caden is fighting brain cancer and also has a tumor on his spine. He underwent surgery Aug 3rd and is now facing a long bout of treatments.

Carson City car enthusiasts show and shine for cancer-stricken teen

Friday night shined in all shapes, sizes and hearts for McKenna Mitchell, a Carson City teen stricken with bone cancer. While McKenna wasn't able to attend because of chemotherapy treatments, Carson City put on a car show the 14-year-old girl would be proud of. The event was held at Kragen-O'Reilly's.

There were 66 entries in the Show and Shine, with all proceeds going to help McKenna's family with medical costs, according to organizers Holly and Kenson Seymour.
