Easter Egg Hunt at Lahontan State Recreation Area

Silver Springs, NV. – Lahontan State Recreation Area is proud to host its 22nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15. This popular family event includes candy, prizes and photos with the Easter Bunny. Due to generous donations from local businesses and residents, the park plans to hide several thousand eggs this year.

Bull riding Smackdown returns to Carson City

2015 National Night Out Carson City returns Tuesday to Mills Park

With the theme of violence prevention, Carson City Sheriff’s Office will host 13 years of community partnership with local agencies, groups and nonprofit organizations Tuesday at Mills Park with the 2015 National Night Out.

Returning this year after a last minute cancelation in 2014 because of heavy rain, this three hour annual family event is designed to bring children and their parents to the park for activities, music, information booths, demonstrations, hot dogs and refreshments. Festivities begin at 5 p.m.

Have you picked your pony yet? The Kentucky Derby is today, but that is far from the only thing running today. Chili on the Comstock is hosting their inaugural Fun with the Runs 5K Saturday at 10 a.m. The 1926 Edwards Motor Car is running, too, and ready for rides at the Nevada Railroad Museum. The wine walk is always a good time, and with Mother’s Day next weekend, it can’t hurt to peruse the shops before you run out of time to pick the perfect gift.

    The Carson Colony in Carson City invites everyone to its 31st Annual La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow during Nevada Day Weekend.

    Witness the Grand Entry at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1; or 12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2. The event is held in the Carson Colony Gym, 2900 South Curry Street.
