CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Transportation will host public information meetings through Thursday, March 29 to gather feedback on the future Interstate 11 corridor connecting the Las Vegas valley and northwestern Nevada.

NHP traffic stop leads to DUI arrest, seizure of 14 pounds of marijuana


A trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol in the Fallon area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle March 14 for traveling over the posted speed limit. The trooper observed signs of impairment while speaking with the driver and began an investigation.

The Carson City School District announced that all schools will be closed today, Friday, due to heavy snow. Western Nevada College's Carson City campus, including the Child Development Center, will be closed today due to weather.
Fallon and Douglas campuses remain open.

Stranded skiers rescued, cited after going outside Tahoe resort boundaries

The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold its first meeting of the New Year on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino in Carson City.

The social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m.

Our speaker will be Lt. Col. Adrian Armold, USMC, Executive Officer, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Pickle Meadows, CA.

Lt. Col. Armold is a 20-year veteran of the Marine Corps with assignments to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
