The Carson Mall has been approved to start doing our events again and our first event will be Nevada Day.

Heading into the weeknd, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City area. Lions Club kicks off its annual “White Cane Days” Saturday and Sunday in Carson City to increase awareness of the white cane traffic safety laws, and collect used eyeglasses for distribution to those in need. Local business Wizard of Pawz grooming salon hosts a socially-distanced grand opening on Saturday afternoon, followed by a pool tournament at Bulldog Billiards at 6 p.m. Combined with live music and karaoke, the state capitol will be packed with excitement! Despite the Nevada Day Parade being cancelled this year, there are many Nevada Day events still happening, and one of them is the popular Nevada Day Treasure Hunt!

Sierra Lutheran High School will host the 3rd Annual Christ is Christmas Craft Fair Saturday, Nov. 7, on the SLHS campus from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The school will be strategically using outdoor and indoor space on its 34-acre campus to promote the kickoff to the Christmas shopping season within social distancing guidelines.

Virginia City will be filled with spooky events over the month of October with its signature Hauntober event. Carson City Mayor, attorney and Vietnam veteran Robert L. "Bob" Crowell died overnight. He was 74.

Robert L. "Bob" Crowell was a native Nevadan, born in the mining town of Tonopah and raised in Carson City. An attorney by profession, Bob was a Vietnam Veteran and retired Navy Captain. He was elected Mayor of Carson City in 2008 and assumed his duties as Mayor on January 5, 2009. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2016. Prior to being elected Mayor, Bob served 11 years on the Carson City School Board of Trustees.

The Carson Canyon Railbike Tours will run four times over the next three days, bringing excitement unlike any other. We are proud to announce the first phase of the Mills Park Pickleball Court conversion project in Carson City is completed. As of Tuesday, July 21, 2020, the courts are open to the public.
