Carson City Symphony launch 'Project Euterpe' videos to showcase local artists, ensembles

The Carson City Symphony and its associated ensembles have been entertaining people in the Carson City area for 36 seasons. Because they can't currently perform live, in person, they are producing a series of once-or-twice-weekly video episodes to showcase the talents of their local artists, ensembles, and guest artists.

Carson City Kiwanis supports local causes serving children, youth, elderly and disabled. Focused on this mission, the club hosts an annual Bingo and Pasta Feed to support the Carson City Senior Citizen’s Center Meals on Wheels program. Unfortunately, like many other local events, the club was forced to cancel the April 2020 fundraiser due to COVID-19.

The Carson City Seventh-day Adventist Church Food Pantry is open to the community for drive-through pick up on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please stop by if you are in need of food. No special paperwork is required (we will complete an intake form at your car if you are a new client), and you may come by even if you have used other food pantries in town. Limited supplies of diapers and baby formula are also available.

The address is 405 E. College Parkway, Carson City. Drive across the parking lot to the beige building next to the playground.

Nevada Secretary of State: 2020 Primary Election Mail-in Ballots on the Way to Nevada Voters

Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske announces that county election officials have begun to mail out 2020 primary election ballots and that voters can expect to receive their ballot in the mail in the next two weeks.

Voters in some counties may even begin to receive their ballots in the mail as early as May 1. Secretary Cegavske previously announced that the 2020 primary election would be a vote-by-mail election due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
