Carson City private schools adjust to new COVID-19 safety procedures

With the 2020-21 school year in full swing, private schools in the Carson City area are adjusting to new COVID-19 health and safety procedures.

February School Board Meeting to discuss climate change, extracurriculars

The Carson City School District February meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street, beginning at 7 p.m.

One item on the table for discussion is the adoption of “Schools for Climate Change,” described as a non-partisan, grassroots, youth-adult campaign with a mission to empower schools to speak up for climate change in order to protect current and future generations.

Avatar: The Last Airbender was a groundbreaking cartoon released ten years ago. It featured an ensemble cast of characters ranging from a woman of color to a young disabled girl, all of whom were integral to the storyline and helped the hero save the day.
