LAS VEGAS — Nevada Vaping Association strongly cautions consumers to not vape marijuana-based THC or cannabinoids products not intended for vapor use due to the significant number of deaths linked to these products.

A Joint Operating Agreement is currently under review between the Carson City Library, the Northern Nevada Development Authority, and Adams Hub, to create and manage a “Business Retention and Expansion” program.

At the Board of Supervisor’s meeting on Aug. 1, a presentation was held to discuss a possible joint contract between the three entities, for the creation of a Business Retention and Expansion program, which would be funded by the Hop and Mae Adams Foundation.

Jeff Glass has been teaching entrepreneurial classes to the youth of Carson City for years, and now, as his students grow up, they’re branching out to run businesses of their own.

One such student is Paul Klemm, the owner of Carson City’s Rehaul.

“Rehaul started as an effort to develop a student run business,” said Glass.

Today, Google announced that they will be partnering with the East Las Vegas Library, part of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, and the Carson City Library, for day-long digital skills training events as part of Google’s Grow with Google initiative.

The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development is hosting a free panel discussion next week in Reno for small businesses to learn the information they need to compete for government contracts.

Last Friday, I was enjoying Open Mic Night at A to Zen and sipping on a cup of tea, when my heart and mind was captured by a ukulele and the voice of Carson City newcomer Kelsey Kelly.

This morning on my radio show, I discussed the topic of forgiveness. It’s a tough subject, especially if you have been hurt. However, forgiveness is not for the person or situation being forgiven. It’s for you. And, sometimes, the person or situation isn’t the only thing that needs to be forgiven. You need to forgive yourself as well.

Persistence. That's the difference between life's winners and its losers.

Winners don't quit, and quitters don't win. It's as simple as that.

One will never accomplish goals in life or realize dreams if one gives up the chase. I've had to learn some hard lessons about that over the years.

It’s a funny thing being in the business of helping businesses through challenge. Once a client is through their challenge or transition, our work is done. RENO — Google continued its Grow with Google tour in Reno this week by announcing a sponsorship grant totalling $100,000 that was presented to JOIN Inc.

When business owners were asked in a survey what their most precious resource was, the pre-dominant answer was (drumroll please) PEOPLE. Relationships, partnerships, and contracts with people are a businesses’ most precious asset. So, if this is the case, why do with people fall through the cracks?

Each Monday morning, I host a show called Drive Time: Your Motivational Drive in the Morning on KNVC 95.1 FM. This morning, considering President Trump’s latest tweet to the president of Iran, I found it appropriate that the topic I had prepared for today was emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence, in short, is how you manage yourself and how you interact with others.

Business is kind of like a horse race. When you line them up at the starting line, the horses all look good. They are all fast, just some are faster than others. Some of them have better odds than the others. Nevada is a betting state, so I will ask you some betting questions.

What a day. The Concert Under the Stars brings Jefferson Starship to the outdoor stage at the Brewery Arts Show. Get there early to peruse the silent auction items and food vendors; the annual fundraising benefit for the Greenhouse Project is always the talk of the town. The Greatest Showman on Earth makes an appearance at the Dangberg Home Historic Ranch: it’s Chautauqua night, and Doug Mishler will be portraying “Circus Showman P. T. Barnum.” The Stewart Indian School in east Carson City has history reaching into the early days of our state.

The Dayton Farmers Market has opened for the 2018 summer season. The market takes place every Saturday through September from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 60 Second Avenue and Highway 50.

Sorry – It’s such a common word. It’s intention and meaning vary from person to person. It could be nothing more than pre-conditioned response or a heartfelt, sincere understanding of wrongdoing. Regardless of what goes wrong, even in business and customer relationships, the first inclination is to say sorry. However, what is sorry without something to back it up?
