Firescaping: Doing your part to reduce wildfire threat

May is Wildfire Awareness Month in Nevada and an appropriate time to discuss ways to protect your home and property. "Firescaping" is landscape design that reduces house and property vulnerability to wildfires. The goal is to develop a landscape with a design and choice of plants that enhance the aesthetics of the property while creating a defensible, survivable space around the home.

The 21st annual Senior Celebration is coming to the new ball room of the Casino Fandango in Carson City on Thursday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event is Northern Nevada’s largest health and information fair in honor of Older American month. Senior Celebration is a free event with over 70 senior living experts who will be gathering to share information about their products and services.

Flavors of India to host fundraiser to send Carson’s Speech and Debate Team to National competition

The Carson High School Speech and Debate team is inviting the community to Flavors of India between 5 - 6:30 p.m., 1105 S. Carson St., Carson City.

Come enjoy delicious food, live entertainment and great conversations.

They are raising money to send qualifying students to the National Speech and Debate competition in Dallas, TX, this June.

Carson City Symphony 'Family Matters' Concert Featuring Violinist Gregory Maytan this Sunday
