June 24, 2014 - 8:30am Free Employment Prep Workshops are being offered Tuesday, June 24 through Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Carson City JOIN office, 1925 N. Carson St., Carson City. Participants are asked to arrive at least five minutes early as the workshops begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 11:30 a.m.
Session I (Tuesday) topic is "Life Skills/Job Search." The goal is to impart basic life, workplace, job search and employment preparation skills to ensure participant success during job acquisition and retention phases.

The first day is on Lifeskills, Job Search and Networking; the second day is on prefecting your 60 Second Me; the third day is Resume building; and the last day is on Interviewing Skills. Update your skills with these workshops which are held monthly and are free to anyone interested. UPDATE: With extended federal jobless benefits in peril, Carson City workforce employee counselors say hundreds of new jobseekers have begun to hit the streets, resumes in hand, looking for work.
