Pets of the Homeless provides free collapsible sleeping crates to emergency shelters

CARSON CITY — Pets of the Homeless, the only national nonprofit organization focused on feeding and providing care to pets of homeless people, provides free collapsible crates to emergency and homeless shelters that offer assistance for people that have pets.

Stranded skiers rescued, cited after going outside Tahoe resort boundaries

Two skiers who became lost Thursday after skiing out of bounds were rescued, one Thursday night and the other plucked Friday morning by a Blackhawk helicopter from NAS Fallon, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Both skiers were wet and cold but otherwise escaped injuries.

In conversations with CASA, a major need is new socks and underwear, of sizes for all ages from 0-17 for children entering the child abuse system. These children arrive with nothing but what they are wearing. Two drop off locations have been added!

Coats & Clothing (new or gently used
Gift Cards to purchase clothing items.
