Mile High Jazz Band Association continues the 2020 Jazz & Beyond Festival’s series of live-streamed, streamed, and virtual events through September 27, 2020.

The next event, A Day at the Ranchette, is today, Sunday, September 20, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., features the Sagebrush Rebels. This event was moved from Silver Saddle Ranch, and in-person attendance is sold out. However, it will be live-streamed on Facebook by A to Zen Media in Carson City. Give it up for Todd Johnson, headlining at the Carson Comedy Club in Carson City this Friday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m.

Todd, native to Idaho, has performed all over the US and Canada. In 2012, He was Runner Up in the Big Sky Comedy Competition. In 2011, he participated in the Aspen Comedy Festival and was asked back the Host the Best of the Fest of 2011 in Aspen Colorado. Todd was a finalist of the 29th International Seattle Comedy Competition in 2008.

Celebrating all things community and the first responders who keep its residents safe, this weekend marks the 28th Dayton Valley Days celebration.

The annual two-day festival is the largest event of the year and draws thousands of visitors and community members to the historic district. Dayton Valley Days helps raise funds for continued restoration of the historic schoolhouse–turned community center and local nonprofit organizations.

To honor all those who write, read and breathe poetry, the Nevada Arts Council will highlight a new poem on Facebook every day, Monday through Friday, in April for National Poetry Month, a celebration established in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets.
 

Join Fridays@3rd Street from 7-11:30 p.m. in Carson City on July 9 when rock band Lavish Green will perform. On July 23, Friday@3rd Street will feature country band The Rustlers and on Aug. 13, Flipside will be featured, playing top 40 R&B. Join in on the fun, music and good times.

The Jeremy Leslie Band will play 7-10 p.m. Thursday at Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson St. The southern rock/country band will give a free concert on the Casino Caberet stage.
