Carson City Library announced Tuesday that it has been selected by the American Library Association and Public Library Association to receive funding to empower Carson City job seekers with digital skills using Grow With Google and a partnership with JOIN Inc.

As we set our radar ahead to Tuesday, June 25, 2019, we say hello Carson City and welcome to a bevy of events ahead including activities for children of all ages, a Muscle Powered morning walk, evening hike and bike ride, a cyber security awareness workshop hosted by DeBug Computer, a job fair at the Carson Nugget, art showings, a delicious taste of France via Bleu Café Culinary Travelers Club and more. Heading into Tuesday, June 18, 2019 we're looking at continued warming around the region with a daytime high around 91. Temperatures are expected to actually lower toward the end of the week. Events around town Tuesday include a Muscle Powered walk, hike and bike ride, yoga, exercises for the mind and body hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club, political gatherings, art activities and more.

Hello Carson City as we welcome Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Events and activities abound, from yoga, walks and a bike ride, to art showings and a jewelry making class. There's an exquisite paella and olive oil show at Bleu Café featuring world renown chef Don Pepe, and a viewing of the classic film "High Noon" with the legendary Gary Cooper at the Brewery Arts Center. Hello Carson City and a warm welcome back from the Memorial Day weekend. Heading into Tuesday, May 28, 2019 there's sunshine in our midst or so says weather forecasters. We're looking at highs in the upper 60s. On tap for the day we have morning and evening walks, a bicycle ride for ladies, an archery shoot at Centennial Park, a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser in Gardnerville to support Special Olympics, a meeting of the Carson City school board and more.

As we head into Tuesday, May 21, 2019 there seems to be some debate brewing about the weather. Is the persistent series of cold weather systems normal or not? We spoke with a forecaster from the National Weather Service about it and he noted that everyone has an opinion. Some folks swear this happens every Spring, storm after relentless storm through the entire month of May. Some swear the month of May in western Nevada is usually sunny, in the upper 70s to low 80s and comfortable. Whichever you believe, go with it and enjoy. Here's what's ahead Tuesday:

One of the great things about our high desert climate is is how quickly conditions can change. Heading into Tuesday we're looking at breezy conditions and sunny skies, with a shift in the weather Wednesday. Heading into Tuesday, May 7, 2019 we are looking at another picture perfect day for a morning or evening stroll with Carson City's own Muscle Powered and a bevy of events, including a chamber digital marketing workshop, Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City Chapter meeting and open house, family movie and craft night at the Carson City Library, a filmmaking discussion followed by a showing of the classic "12 Angry Men" at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall and more. Happy Monday, Carson City, we hope you had a great Nevada Day weekend. Welcome to the beginnings to a new work week and come later this week, the month of November begins. Today is Oct. 29, 2018. Have you got your pumpkin yet? They are giving them away today, two per person, first come first serve between 5 and 6 p.m. at Carson Mall in the Boot Barn. There's also a costume hike tonight at Carson River Park.

Learning a second language isn't as simple as sitting through classes and completing workbooks. Just ask clients at the United Latino Community (ULC) in Carson City, where learning a language is a shared experience and a common thread that binds people together.

A cluttered apartment was reason enough for Lindsey and Linda Jones to decide on opening their own store a year ago.

With computer parts and components quickly taking up room from Lindsey's repair business, the couple decided to move their inventory into a space of its own.

In September, the Carson City Library will again offer basic introductory computer classes, two of which address Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel Formatting will be offered at 6:00 pm on September 10th and is a prerequisite to the second class, Microsoft Excel Calculations offered at 6:00 pm September 17th.

Library Director Sena Loyd announces the grand re-opening of the Carson City Library and its newly repurposed auditorium, now known as The Digitorium. The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, from noon to 7 p.m. The public is invited to explore reconfigured spaces at the library’s 900 North Roop Street main branch.

Carson City Library continues to extend opportunities for patrons to advance their digital literacy skills by offering an array of extensive technology training classes. A calendar of librarian-led training classes and workshops is updated monthly and offers new classes based on patron demand.

Carson City Library has extended its technological reach by implementing extensive technology training in Lyon County through librarian-led training and workshop offerings that will improve digital literacy skills to all potential users in the region.

The @ Two Digital Learning Center, on the second-floor of the Carson City Library, has launched learning opportunities by scheduling a new-round of basic computer classes.

Located on the second floor of the library annex, above the current Youth Department, @Two has been a busy community resource for patrons over the last year. Unfortunately access to the second-floor has been unreliable thanks to an aging and highly temperamental elevator.

The Carson City Library will launch a weeklong grand opening celebration of the new digital technology center, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Located on the second floor of the library annex, above the current Youth Department, the center has been introduced to computer-using patrons over the last several weeks and now the community is invited, according to a news release
