Nevada Arts Council announces fiscal year 2020 grant recipients

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Arts Council announced Friday the awarding of more than $1 million in statewide grants to 172 recipients ranging from individual artists to nonprofit organizations and public institutions for the 2020 fiscal year.

On Tuesday, March 7, the Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] will present a talk by arts writer Chérie Louise Turner. Her illustrated talk, "From New York to Fallon: Abstract Art Today", is part of CCAI’s ongoing Nevada Neighbors series and will take place at 7pm at the Community Development building (the Brick), 108 E Proctor St, Carson City.

From the Ground Up: Carson City Courthouse exhibition begins Friday with reception, talk

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents its exhibition, "From the Ground Up", by artist Gil Martin at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Friday, February 3, 5-7pm; Martin will give a talk about his work at 5:30pm. The exhibit will be in the gallery from February 3 – May 24, 2017.

The Nevada Arts Council announced its 2015 grant recipients for the year, with Carson City, Western Nevada and Lake Tahoe organizations getting a share of more than $600,000 in art program money.

NAC Arts Learning, Project and Partners in Excellence grants for fiscal year 2015 went to non-profit organizations and public institutions in 10 Nevada counties. Grants were awarded at the board meeting in May. Review panels convened in public meetings to evaluate the grant applications and recommend funding amounts for the board to consider.

NEA announces $768,500 in arts funding for Nevada

The National Endowment for the Arts will award $768,500 in grants to the Nevada Arts Council, the Western Folklife Center, the Churchill Arts Council and the Nevada Ballet Theater as part of the second half of NEA’s fiscal year 2014 funding, Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa announced Thursday.

The NAC was awarded $663,500 for the third year of its Partnership Agreement Grant, which supports the agency’s programs, outreach activities and various grant categories.
