'Homestead Holidays' to bring free, old-fashioned country Christmas to Carson City this Friday through Sunday

Carson City's Holiday with a Hero donations continue, Slotworld goes big with $15K check

SlotWorld donated $15,000 to Holiday with a Hero, which pairs children in need with law-enforcement officials and first responders for a $100 shopping spree at Walmart.

Carson City's Richards Crossing residents receive gift giveaway from Red Hat Society

A local chapter of the Red Hat Society named the “Classy Sassy Bear Ladies” organized a Christmas gift giveaway for the residents. The giveaway, for which planning started over the summer, collected homemade and donated blankets, scarves and socks.

The first three photos are of the Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights celebration and were taken by Lynn McCarthy. The final set of photos, taken by Cathleen Allison of Nevada Momentum, are of Saturday night's Holiday Crawl, in support of the Holiday with a Hero campaign. The final photo from FISH is at the Project Empty Bowls event held Saturday at the Carson Mall.

Carson City Christmas Tree lighting has the Capitol sparkling

The grinch stopped by to help conduct, and free carriage rides went on throughout the afternoon and evening starting at 4:30 in front of the Capitol building.

Cancer Recovery: Friends of Willow Bill host fundraiser Sunday at Carson City's A to Zen
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 12/05/2019 - 12:15pmObservant travelers in Northern Nevada are reporting numerous reindeer sightings along the 85 mile stretch of US 395 between Bordertown, on the north, and Lake Topaz, on the south.
The Willow Reindeer herd now has 3,000 individually crafted works of art. Each reindeer has been signed by the local elementary students that have created it over the past 22 years. With an average of 20 students per class, there have been over 60,000 local children involved in the massive local art project.
