The Brewery Arts Center normally provides the Levitt-Amp concert series throughout the summer, but due to COVID-19 the festivities were cancelled this year. The BAC, however, along with several Carson City community partners, stepped up to bring safe family fun to the capital city, including the Flatbed Concert Series and drive-in movie nights.

Students from Wild Horse Children's Theater in Carson City won a Freddie G Excellence in Music national theater award and earned recognition at the 2020 Junior Theater Festival West, which happened Feb. 7-9, 2020 at Wells Fargo Pavilion.

Each year, the Nevada Day parade makes its way through downtown Carson City in the biggest event of the year. The annual celebration of Nevada's induction into Statehood is a time-honored and popular tradition, with upwards of 20,000 people flocking to the Capital region. This year, however, you don't have to be in the Capital city to be a part of the celebration.

Local actor Cooper Jack Mills will appear as a series regular on the the new Pureflix series "Mood Swings."

Have fun with Improv! We will use games, team-building exercises and basic improvisational acting structures. No experience necessary. Students will gain confidence on stage, employ public speaking skills, think quickly on their feet and create fun scenes out of thin air. They will put on a show for their families and friends during the last class.

Heading into the midweek, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 activities abound around the capital city. There's a new group for writers that meets at the Brewery Arts Center; a salary negotiation workshop at WNC, a chautauqua and author presentations at Dangberg Historic Park. There's also the Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival that will feature the Wesley Orsolic Trio during Wheeled Food Wednesday at the BAC, with jams to continue at Living the Good Life; there's also a real estate workshop for veterans, art showings, salsa dancing and more. Heading into Monday, July 8, 2019 we want to give a big shout out to all the local organizations and agencies that made this Fourth of July weekend around the Carson City region one to remember. For Monday we're looking at a number of events including a basketball camp at the MAC, a children's theater camp, a local talk with the Carson City Airport manager, art activities, line dancing and more.

On June 28th my wife and I where honored to go watch a musical, a musical that was filled with so much music, joy, sadness and most of hope. The singers did an amazing job of fulling the roles they where chosen for. The music that they sang and danced to was one of the hardest scores that has ever played on Broadway.

Here is the best part, the cast was made up by young adults, younger adults and small children. The name of the musical is called "Newsies" It is being performed by the Wild Horse Children's Theater of Carson City.
