Feds Feed Families CAN-Strucion Challenge
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 09/21/2015 - 11:40amThe Feds Feed Families Food Drive kicked it up a notch this year with the CAN-Town Construction Challenge! US Bureau of Reclamation, US Geological Survey and USDA Rural Development all participated by building CAN-Projects.

Food for Flu 2015

Donate two cans of food between January 5th - January 9th and receive a free flu vaccine voucher for the Carson City Health & Human Services clinic. All food will be donated to Friends in Service Helping (FISH).
Sock and Glove Tree For The Do Drop In

Evergreen Gene's Inc. - the canned food drive and glove & sock tree drop off location - is 1815 N. Carson St. (next to Grocery Outlet). Donations are always accepted at 1895 E. Long, the location of Do Drop In.

Year-round Christmas store has ornaments from 18 different countries, indoor and outdoor lights, outside decorations, trees (fresh and artificial), vintage ornaments, indoor decorations, and cards. Ornament prices start at just ten cents! Sample Hot Wassail, Hot Christmas Tea, and other goodies.
Friends of Carson City Library host canned food drive
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 09/05/2014 - 2:06pmFree Books for Canned Food! The Friends of the Library are having a canned food drive to support the Ron Wood Family Resource Center. Bring in a donation of canned or packaged food from Sept. 8 through Sept. 13 and pick out a free book of your choice.
One free book per donation. Especially needed now are staples such as canned tuna, beans, vegetables, fruit, pastas and sauces. Bring your donations to The Browsers Corner Book Store at 711 East Washington Street. Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Food barrels are available at three Greater Nevada Credit Union branches. Stop by our branch in North Carson, on Eagle Station Lane in South Carson, or our Dayton branch between now and July 13, 2012 to make your contribution.

Virginia City High School Boosters basketball game fundraiser

Virginia City High School Muckers and our Virginia City Firefighters!
On Friday, 18 November, they'll square off at the high school at 7PM, and the
price of admission is just one canned good per person. There will be raffle
prizes, a silent auction, AND another auction complete with an auctioneer, as
well as halftime sporting challenges for all.
But plan to come at 6PM: you can choose from an Americana dinner of
hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, and nachos, with varying costs per item.
