CCAI will host a reception for the show on Friday, June 9, 5-7pm including a short introduction of the exhibition participants at 5:30pm. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free and the public is cordially invited. Railroad Museum in Carson City heads full steam into Memorial Day weekend, summer

Construction crews this week completed removal of more than 110,000 square feet of debris and repairs to the tracks on the museum grounds that were damaged by flooding in January.

After the flood: Railroad Museum in Carson City to reopen Saturday

The museum has been closed since Jan. 8 due to significant damage from floodwaters that inundated the property, damaging the tracks, fire roads and a number of buildings.

A century later, the importance of skill-related careers and training are also being emphasized closer to home. Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell declared February as Career and Technical Education Month.

Look for it on the third floor near Ways and Means. Sophie’s painting, based on an 1860s photograph of Silver City, was created while she was a resident artist in Silver City in 2015.

NWS forecasts Carson River to crest above flood stage by Saturday in Carson City area

As of 4:15 a.m. Friday morning, the river in Carson City was measured at 9.2 feet, reaching flood stage when it crests at 10 feet.
The NWS forecasts the Carson River is expected to rise above 11 feet by Saturday, staging the river at major flood levels for the second time in a month.
