Please join us at United Latino Community for a free tutor training workshop, from 10:00 until 10:30 on Saturday, August 22, at United Latino Community, 1711 N. Roop (corner of Roop and Beverly). We have a list of people who need basic computer skills to find a job or maintain their job.
Light snacks will be served. Instructional materials and training are provided at no charge by United Latino Community. Commitment is 1.5 hours each week for 6 weeks.

CASA Volunteers are people from all walks of life. Some work full time jobs but most are retired. CASAs are people who care about children and have common sense. All are over 21 and have reliable transportation. The Volunteers can write a comprehensive report and are able to stand up in front of the court and speak about the foster child's needs.

There are more than 100 adults in Carson City who are eager to learn to speak, read and write English. Light snacks will be served. Instructional materials and training are provided at no charge by United Latino Community. Neither experience nor foreign language is necessary. Commitment is 1-2 hours per week.

CASA of Carson City will hold an Information Hour, 5:30pm, April 7th, at the CASA of Carson City office, 1539 E. 5th Street.
Come and learn more about being a CASA volunteer. CASA volunteers are appointed by the Carson City Juvenile Court to serve as guardian ad litem for a case of abused or neglected children in a child welfare court case.

It's Wine Walk Saturday in Carson City

Today's wine walk is going to be the best yet with Rice Street on the north end of downtown offering a shop local street faire. Vendors, Crafters, and artisans will be set up in the streets.
The Brewery Arts Center will be having street performers throughout the wine walk, and many of the shops will be having end of summer clearances. Make sure to get your tickets and bring a friend.
