The teen-comedy "Project X," currently at the Fandango Galaxy cineplex in Carson City, is clearly aimed at high school teens, despite its R rating. It's a wild party scene that is the ultimate teen aspiration, including plenty of drugs, booze, nudity and destruction.

The bash is on Monday, March 12th at the Carson Mall from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. This event is for all current and former Girl Scouts and active or retired military personnel.

The performance is called "Eat, Drink & Be Murdered!"
Proscenium Players hold Carson City auditions for murder mystery
Submitted by editor on Wed, 09/22/2010 - 3:27pmProscenium Players, in conjunction with the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino in Carson City, will hold open auditions for the murder mystery "Eat, Drink and Be Murdered."
Auditions will be held at the Carson City Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino in the Juniper Room on Wednesday, Oct. 13th and Thursday, Oct. 14th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Those auditioning will be asked to do cold readings and some improvisational acting.
Carson City DA and sheriff warn of uptick in purse snatching cases
Submitted by editor on Thu, 09/02/2010 - 6:57pmCarson City residents should be on alert following a rash of purse thefts from local businesses, vehicles and government office buildings, District Attorney Neil Rombardo and Sheriff Kenny Furlong said today in a joint news statement.
At least a dozen women’s wallets and purses were stolen from area businesses and vehicles between May and August, according to the statement. Among the thefts include:
— A woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse as she tried on a wedding gown in a South Carson Street bridal store.
Gardnerville man steals four cases of beer for birthday party, arrested for shoplifting and meth possession
Submitted by editor on Thu, 07/08/2010 - 1:10pmA Gardnerville man, who told authorities he was planning a birthday party but didn't have enough money for beer and so he decided to steal four cases of it, faces felony shoplifting and possession of methamphetamine charges after being arrested Wednesday.
Jay William Dunkelberg, 53, was detained by Safeway store personnel following a foot chase. He was subsequently interviewed by Carson City Sheriff's Office personnel where he confessed to shoplifting and meth possession, according to the arrest report. Bail is set at $5,000.
