Bobcat spotted resting in Southwest Carson after a lunch of a neighbor's pet duck

According to Carson City resident Bob Bondiett, a bobcat was spotted in a residential neighborhood taking a snooze under a cherry tree after the wild cat made itself a lunch out of a neighbor's pet duck.

Mountain lion warning still in effect for westside of Carson City

Authorities are still on the lookout for a mountain lion that chased after a jogger yesterday on Kings Canyon Road. Residents are warned to keep an eye out for the big cat, and to keep close tabs on children and pets. KOLO8 has this video report:

Update: The Nevada Appeal has a story quoting Chris Healy from Nevada Department of Wildlife that they have been looking but have not seen the big cat since the jogger reported it on Monday.

Mountain lion dies after killing dog near Lakeview subdivision

An injured mountain lion that had killed a dog near the Lakeview subdivision on the northwest side of Carson City over the weekend died after personnel from the Nevada Division of Wildlife shot it with a tranquilizer.

A resident reported that the big cat had killed a 14-year-old husky and was aggressively guarding the carcass when NDOW was called in, according the NDOW public information officer Chris Healy.
