Classical Tahoe, a celebration of classical music that aims to enrich the cultural and community vitality of Lake Tahoe, is adapting its annual Orchestra Festival to a Chamber Music Series in Incline Village from July 30 to August 16. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the careers of musicians and artists, the performance nonprofit seeks to bring awareness on how chamber groups can perform safely for the community while providing a transformative, intimate music experience.

Ashlyn Parnham, Diana Banuelos Ibarra, and Jasmine Wong-Fortunato were awarded the third annual Rosemary Nebesky Memorial Scholarships by the Carson City Symphony Association this month.

National Honor Society President Eleanor Sturm made her opening remarks at the annual NHS induction ceremony Sept. 17 in the CHS Big Gym. TOCCATA – Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus kicks off its 10th annual WinterFest with the “Brrroque Masters” concert series dedicated to the memory of Mark Lord, TOCCATA’s principal trumpet player for the past 9 years.

The program includes Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Trumpets featuring baroque trumpters Dwayne Hollenbach and Wm Van Meter and the Vivaldi Gloria featuring the Tahoe Symphony Chorus and vocal soloists.

Metropolitan Opera Star Matthew Polenzani and U.S. Billboard Classical Chart best-selling pianist Simone Dinnerstein will be thrilling audiences this August as soloists for the 2014 Lake Tahoe SummerFest.

Carson City Symphony is coming to Reno to perform for Artown! The concert is on Sunday, July 7, at 5:00 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Avenue. The program, "Movies & More," features organ soloist Michael Langham, bassoon soloist Eric Fassbender, and vocal soloist Jakki Ford. Admission is $10 at the door, or online at CCSymphony.com.

The Carson City Symphony, directed by David Bugli, will perform "Legends, Fairy Tales, and Dances" on Sunday, Feb. 24, 4 p.m., at the Carson City Community Center's Bob Boldrick Theater, 851 E. William Street in Carson City.
