Ballroom Dancing

Looking for a date night idea? Want a night out with the friends! Grab the family and Swing on by Yapel's Ballroom! Come to our Swing Dancing Class. It is the best! It's great physical activity, great music, an easy going style that can help you connect with a partner easily. This is also a great style if you don't have a partner.

When you come to class, single guys and gals rotate so that they get a chance to try the swing moves with a partner. If you bring a partner to class, you have the choice to rotate or stick with your partner!

There will be a dance with live music this Friday, Sept. 6 at Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive. The dance is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. All ages welcome.

Tickets are $10 are person available at the door. Live music provided by The Grumpy Old Men. Enjoy social ballroom dancing and line dancing and have fun "doing your own" style. Participants are encouraged to bring a store-purchased snack to share.

Balance, Turns & Latin Motion Workshop

A Ballroom Dance Social will be held March 1 from 6-9 p.m. at Yaple's Ballroom Dance Studio, 315 N. Carson Street in downtown Carson City.

Cost is $10 for the whole evening!

6 p.m.: FREE Dance Lesson on the Waltz Box and dance frame

6:30 p.m.: Dance lesson on Waltz and Foxtrot Basics

7:30-9 p.m.: Social Dancing, your DJ for the evening will be Tiffany

Music will range from Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Country, Night Club and more! Requests are welcome!

Dancing is as much a form of human communication and intimacy as it is art, said professional dance instructor Tiffany Alm, who owns Yaples Ballroom in downtown Carson City.

Carson City isn't particularly known for its night or dance clubs. But one local non-profit group caters to the needs of some residents who like to cut a rug or bust a groove for a good time.

High Sierra Swing Dance Club invites the public to its seventh-annual Spring Ball dinner-dance on April 26 at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St., Carson City.

The semi-formal/formal-attire evening begins with hors d'oeuvres and no-host cocktails at 5:30 p.m. and continues with dance performances at 6:30, buffet dinner at 7, open dancing 8-11 pm to West Coast swing,
nightclub two-step, country two-step, waltz and Latin tunes.

All ages welcome, no partner necessary. Learn various styles and have fun at the same time.

Tuition: Adults $8 per class, Teens $6.00 per class (Pay teacher at time of class)
